Update Custom Fields for a Person

Custom fields store information your church tracks beyond ChurchTrakr’s standard person fields. The fields available on a profile are determined by your church’s custom-field settings.

Update a person’s custom fields

  1. Go to People.
  2. Open the person’s profile.
  3. Locate the Custom Fields section in the profile.
  4. Select Edit.
  5. Enter or select the appropriate values.
  6. Select Save.

ChurchTrakr displays Custom fields updated when the changes are saved.

Custom Fields created are for all profiles.  You choose if you want to populate them for each person.  If you’re in a profile and realize you need to add a field, click Manage Fields.  From there you can add a Custom Field.

Custom Field Types

Depending on how a field was created, you may see:

  • A single-line text box
  • A larger text area
  • A date field
  • A single-choice menu
  • A multiple-choice list
  • A Yes/No switch

An asterisk indicates a required field. Instructions entered by the field’s administrator appear below the field while editing.

Discard changes

If you are editing a Custom Field and then want to not make that change, select Cancel to restore the previously saved values and exit editing without saving your changes.

Manage the fields themselves

Select Manage Fields in the Custom Fields card to open the church-wide custom-field settings. Changes made there affect which fields are available on person records throughout ChurchTrakr.
